We blessed Savvy on Sunday. It was such a beautiful day!! Savvy was so good!!! She is the most calm patient baby I have ever been around. Dustin did such a great job on the blessing. This isn't the first time Dustin has given Sav a blessing. I am so greatful for the preisthood and am so glad we have it in our home.

Savvy was blessed in the same dress I was blessed in. My Grandma made it for me 27 years ago and Savvy looked so cute in it.

My little Savvy girl is growing up so fast!!! And I don't like it!!! Here is an update of we have been doing since Sav has joined our little family.

Dad started baseball a couple of weeks ago. Savvy and I love going to his game and cheering loud, especially when the weather is nice.

We took Savvy to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. She slept the whole time.
And good friends Greg and Lynsey came with us.

We took Savvy on a road trip to Vegas to visit Dez. ( I just realized I didn't take any pictures of the two of them) Sav did so good in the car and on the trip. We are so luckey to have such a good baby.

Dustin and I are so greatful that Savvy was sent to us> She is such a joy and has brought us so much happiness. I never knew you could love someone so much. My little girl is growing so fast. I wish i could stop time right now! I'm loving life!!!!

Savvy Defa Nielsen

Well here she is! All 6 lbs. 11 ounces of her. She measured 19.5 inches long. Look how cute!

After pushing and pushing she finally came to us. We feel so lucky to be able to bring this little girl into this crazy world. She is just 22 hours old and already she has captured our hearts and continues to make us smile. We are so gratfeful that our familes could be here to share with us in this special time.

Kristin is doing well. She is tired but hanging in there. Kristin did so good the whole time. She is a trooper and I dont know how she was so tough the whole time.

Savvy is good as well. She gets cuter and cuter every time we look at her. Crazy how that happens, huh...?

We will post more pictures a little later, but for now this is all we have.

No, this last picture is not a mirage. I DID change this diaper. Later though, I found out that I didnt do it good enough. Our nurse was so kind to point that out to me.

Off To The Hospital

Well well well...the time has come. We are finally having our little girl after a long 9 month wait. Between going to the doctor a bajillion times and all the aches and pains, the little one is finally ready to come out.

We had been doing a lot of things to make the process go a little faster. We tried lunges, walking and walking and walking...we even tried some weird pizza at a downtown cafe. But this morning, Kristin had been feeling a little different, and thought something was up. By about 10:30 am she felt something running down her leg. It was then that she figured that....

Yes. Her water broke.

Kristin was nervous so I told her to call her doctor to make sure thats what it was. She was asked to go into the doctors office at 1pm. We went up to see the doctor and after a test or two we were asked to go on up to the hospital to have this baby girl.

Kristin just got finished getting her epidural and we are told its "smooth sailin'" from here. We are crossing our fingers.

Quick update

Okay I know we have not updated this blog in years!!! Sorry LIfe has been crazy!!! For those of you who don't know our house is done and were able to move into it the week before Thanksgiving which was so fun to be in before the holidays!!!
Dustin and I are an Aunt and Uncle for the second time which we are so excited for!! Corinne and Chad had Connor November 11th and he is the cutest Blue eyed boy ever!!! (Pictures to come) Christmas was fabulous this year very simple, lots of family time but very enjoyable!!! Dustin and I have been working a lot since the beginning of the year and are just gettting ready for our little girl to get here. We are ready only missing one thing, our little angel. We are due next week and hope and pray everything goes well. I have had a lot of mixed feelings about bringing this little girl into the world. I know she is coming to a family that already loves her so much. We can't wait till you're here baby girl!!!!!

We don't have the internet at our home so I don't have pictures but I will have my fabulous husband help me get some pictures updated and I promise we will try to be better at keeping this thing up!!!

Miracles

Right now I am sitting in the Icu at Primary childrens hospital. What a crazy month it has been!!! My cousin Andrew got in a hunting accident and was shot. To make a long story short he has been doing great. We have witnessed miracle after miracle. This morning i woke up to a phone call saying that he had taken a turn for the worst. So here we are waiting. I just want to thank all of you for your support and prayers. I know the Lord has blessed us. And will continue to bless us. I am so greatful for the Gospel in our lives. The house is in Farmington and we are very excited to continue to watch our first home being built!

I have to take a minute and brag about my sister Corinne. (Sorry Corinne this is such an old Picture but I thought it was cute) She is such an amazing person!! She has been working so hard the last couple of years to get her degree in nursing and she finally did it!!! Yahoo!!! She graduated the last week of March and she is now a RN. We are so excited for her to be done with school and move on with life, And moving on is what her and her husband will be doing!! They are having a baby!!! Another Yahoo!!! Another nephew, that Dustin and I get to enjoy. She is due in November and like I said we are so excited!!!

Since I am bragging about my sister I thought I would include a little more....

Corinne and I have had an interesting relationship. We were best friends all growing up. Well maybe I should say I was her shadow. Here are some things I remember about our childhood days

1. I remember at very young age she went with our neighbor to see The Rockateer ( I think that is the name of it) I wanted to go so bad!!! Not because I wanted to see the movie I just wanted to be all grown up and go with them. Well of coarse my parents wouldn't let me. I was probably 6 at the time and they were getting dropped off. I remember being so mad that I sat on the couch and cried and screamed and cried. I remember thinking that if I screamed loud enough I would annoy my parents enough that they would let me go... didn't happen!!!

2. At even a younger age we went up to our ranch with my dad and spent the day helping him and my grandpa do some stuff. My Dad had to go back down to the city to get the rest of the family. Corinne and I decided that we wanted to stay up at the ranch instead of driving down and coming back up. So we did. Well that afternoon it rained and stormed like nothing else and the lighting was crazy!!! We were so scared!!!! We were convinced that we were going to get struck by lighting and dye.

3. This last week we got together with the C-ville crew which consisted of Corinne, Dez, Krista, Hayley, Megan, Crystal and on occasion Brit. We sat and talked about the good old days from making videos to toilet papering to sleeping on the tramp with the rats to water ballooning to Watching hours of t.v. when princess Diane died. No we can not forget the time getting chased by three cars at one time and ditching a cop. I have so many memeroies with those girls I could go on for hours.

4. After Corinne graduated she went down to Cedar city to go to college. But our friendship continued. We had to get creative while down there cause there isn't a whole lot to do. So we entertained ourselves with a box of go-gurts. And entertainment that was. Those of you who were there with us will probably just laugh and shake your head at this memory. Haha!!

There are so many things I could write in this post. I am so excited that Corinne has finished school and now we get to spend more time with her and we are so Excited for her new addition to her family!!! Love ya sis!

Why I Love DiSnEyLAnD!

Yes! Dustin and I went to Disneyland!!! I absolutly Love Disneyland!! As a child we would go every year and so when I get to go back it brings back so many fun memories. This is why I love Disneyland :)

1. All of the fun picture spots.

2. I love how clean and perfect the landscaping is

3. The fun creative decorations. (you never see the same decorations)

4. Dole whips. Need I say more?

5. Of course Sleeping Beauty's Castle

6. All the fun entertainment. This cafe is so funny a great place to get lunch and to have a good laugh.

7. All of the fun hats that you see all around the park.

(isn't Dustin a good sport?)

8. And Disneyland isn't Disneyland without the Mouse

I could go on and on forever, but that was only day one of our trip so I won't bore you with the Disney stuff.

Day two of the trip we went down to Laguna Beach another favorite.

The weather was kind of overcast so we sat on the beach for a couple of hours and then we walked around to all the little shops.

We ended the trip by going to an Angels game. They won by one, not the most exciting game but it was fun.

It was a quick trip but made for a great long weekend!!!

Where do I begin? Maybe by saying that the reasons for my love and adoration for my wife cannot be fully comprehended in textual form. I try my best to show her my love. I need to work on that more I think.

I adore her for her security.
I adore her for her comfort.
I adore her for her confidence in me.
I adore her for her teamwork in our relationship
I adore her for her positive attitude constantly.
I adore her for the light she shines on others around her.

There are so many things I love and adore Kristin for. Just typing them out doesnt give my feelings for her justice. She can lift me up with a smile from her face. There is no such thing as a complete list of reasons for love. New reasons pop up each day. She's the best.

I just have to brag about the hero in my life... My Husband. Yesterday for Valentines Day, he got up and cooked me breakfast before I had to be to work (so cute!!.) Lately I have been bugging my husband to pull out the extra mattress from our spare bedroom and he just laughs at me and says I'm wierd (true.) Yesterday I came home from work and he had the mattress out in the living room all setup. So we had a very relaxing night at home, just the two of us. Which doesn't happen very often. Not to mention my cute husband cooked dinner, and he gave me a gorgeous necklace. Needless to say it was the best Valentines Day ever!!!
WhY I aDorE My huSbAnD...
* There isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't make me laugh.
* We both work hard and a lot. He is very good at sharing the house duties (cooking, cleaning, laundry) when I get behind and doesn't complain about it.
* He still gets my door for me
* We can laugh together, tease together, cry together (Dustin is such a sensitive guy)
* He respects his priesthood and is such a good Sunday School teacher.
* I love how he tangles his legs up in mine before we fall asleep.
* Every morning before he leaves for work he asks if he can get me anything or do anything for me before he leaves and he ALwaYs aLwayS kisses me goodbye.
* When I work late nights by myself he comes up to the salon and helps me close the salon even though its far and not convenient at all, he still does it.
* Whenever I get mad or annoyed at family members or friends he always gives me a different way to look at things and keeps my thoughts and feelings positive (I don't think Dustin has ever had an enemy in his life!!! Or even been mad at someone!!! I wish I was more like that. Im learning ;)
I could go on and on about the person I adore and thank my Heavenly Father daily for him. I truly am so greatful to have Dustin in my life. I Love you Babe!!!

A Long Weekend

We had such a relaxing weekend!!! And muchly needed weekend!! Dustin and I took off Thursday morning and headed down to St. George where my cousin Heidi and her husband, Joe are staying while he does a rotation for med school. Then we all headed down to Vegas to visit Dez.

We love spending time with Dez. We just wish it was more often :(

One of my favorite things to do is to watch the Fountains in front of the Bellagio (I have seen them a million times but I love it)

We went to the Fiesta Fun Family Fun Center (What a wierd name)

The girls got together for dinner at BamBara at hotel Monaco (I didn't eat cause dustin had his work christmas party at Tucanos so met up after dinner)

Lindsey came in to town it was fun to her!! Come visit more often girl!!

After dinner a few of us went to V chocolates where Callie was working and hung out there for a while and we had to wear the hair nets cute huh??? And then we took a trip out to Andrea's house in Day Break it was fun to see her house and to be with the girls!!

For our first Thanksgiving together we decided to go to Dustins parents for dinner. It was such a good day. We woke up in the morning and went to the gym to work out. Then we hit Wal-Mart (thank heavens it was open) because I put off the food assignment givin to me... of coarse!! We then got ready and headed to his parents at about 2. It was a nice dinner! It was Dustins parents and sister and then his Aunt and Uncle and his cousin. It was a small group but fun! After dinner and visiting we played the Wii YAY!

A New Calling

Wow life has been extremly buisy lately.... I got a new calling YAY!!! I am now in the young womens as a Laurel advisor Iam way excited but very nervous I don't know very many people in the ward but it will be fun to get to know the girls. Saturday we got up very early and hiked Ensign peak... it was freezing!! Then Dustin and I went and volunteered at the food bank with his work , RAdio Disney.. then had fun watching the game. You think I would have pictures especially cause I had my camera with me all day but nope no pictures :( Iam so excited for Thanksgiving cause then I get to put up christmas yaya! I am so excited for christmas!!

Ok so this picture was taken in 2006. We were on a family vacation in Palm Desert, California.
There is this tram that you take up to the top of the mountain were it is 40 degrees cooler. Since it was in the middle of July when we went it was 115 in the valley so it was nice to get to some cooler weather :) Kinda of a random picture... Do you think I should cut my hair short short again??? HMMM.......

Kristin and I had bought a few masks for Halloween. When we learned that the Halloween party we were going to go to had been cancelled, we were so sad that we may not be able to get all scarified. So we created another situation in which we could get scary(as if we arent scary enough.) So this is us at the Defa home where we ate dinner and carved pumpkins. Ok so last night Dustin and I tended our friends Jaada and Porters kids, Saavy (2) and Roe (4 months) and it was a lot of work.... But so fun!!! Dustin was so cute with both of the girls especially Saavy she kept him on his toes. But this experience made me realize how much work kids are. I definatly still want kids but I am definatly enjoying the time that Dustin and I have together! Thanks Jaada and Porter for letting us tend your kids they are seriously so so so cute and Saavy had a laughing all night!

Dustin had a birthday on October 6th. I suprised him for his birthday and took him to the Armstrong Mansion for a night. We stayed in the November room... We had a good time. The actual day of his birthday we had friends over for cake and ice cream.

We know have a new computer so how about an update:)
The question I get daily is 'how is married life?' ANd since we have been married now 2and half months I thought I would let you all know how married life is..... I just asked Dustin the question and his response was 'great' that was it then he said he 'finds joy every second he is with me' what a suck up!.. haha but it has been good a lot of people say the first year is so hard but neither Dustin or I have found it to be hard. It has been fun, exciting, relaxing, crazy, an adventure.... and many more. Somethings I have found interesting is my abilities in the kitchen. I try my hardest to impress dustin and have dinner ready or close to being ready by the time he gets home. But lets be honest I failing, he usually gets home before I do.

Almost every night I cook I make way tooo much food!!
so if you get a last minute invite for dinner you will know why :)

step in and take over.

We have been doing some fun things with friends. We went to the state fair with jessica and craig (above) Blake and Audra and Tyler and Ginger. We went to a freak show thing. That cow has two noses. It was really gross and I don't recommend going to these things they are weird and kinda stupid.

Grandma and Grandpa Spilker had the whole fam-damly over for a last summer BBQ and it was so much fun!! We played a couple games of Bacci Ball. (if you have never played I highly recommend it)

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day we decided to go up to West Yellowstone. It was so fun!! The first night we stayed in a little cabin I don't even know where it was but it was cute super small but fun. Blake and Audra came with us. We left saturday morning and got there about 3 we went on a little hike then we played Bacci ball. The boys cooked us dinner hot dogs and hamburgers.

AT this place they had a little lodge place were they had a ton of games so we decided to go over and play... after about an hour or so of playing different games Audra and I decided to do a light bright so we were doing our light bright thing and all of a sudden this bat started flying over our heads we were freaking out!!! It was kind of funny but we were so scared!! Dustin got it on film it is actually pretty funny!! We tried getting it out of the lodge but no luck so we decided to go to bed.
We spent all day on sunday going through Yellowstone Park it was fun we saw a bear, some bison, and elk. We went to see old faithful and the stink pots and waterfalls.
Sunday night we stayed in a hotel cause it was so cold and rainy. Which ended up being a good thing cause I didn't feel good all night and didn't sleep well. We bummed around town for a little then got in the car and drove home. When we dropped Blake and Audra off at home I was freezing and couldn't stop shaking when we got home I layed down and checked my temperature and it was high so we tried getting it to go down and we did so I fell asleep and then tuesday morning it was high again. I ended up going to the the Doctor and I now have strep throat:) so I am home back in bed.... and this why I have been able to catch up on the blog. But the Doc says I can go back to work tomorrow so hopefully Ill be better soon. But it was a fun weekend totally worth it!!!

Our first night together was at LIttle America on the 18th floor it was perfect!!! We were suppose to get up early the next morning to catch our flight to Mexico but we got up early but our flight got canceled so we headed back to Little America and spent another night there which was kind of a bummer but oh well. So we got to Mexico Monday late afternoon. Our Honeymoon was perfect!!! We spent one day at the Spa getting facials and messages (my favorite part:) then one day we went into town and the last two days we spent out on the beach and by the pool.
Our Resort was beautiful it was only about 3 years old.

ONe night we road into a small town for dinner and we decided to walk back along the beach it was perfect!!

Dustin went through the Temple on Tuesday August 26th in the Bountiful Temple it was good night. Blake Vantussenbrook was his escort.
We didn't want a ton of people there. in the picture above is Brother MIchael his wife Stacey, Me Dustin, BLake and Audra. Dustin's friends Tyler Gunnell, Craig and James Carlson were also there. Thanks guys for your love and support.

Ahahah I hate posting!!! I can't figure this thing out so this is what you get for now cause have been trying to figure this out 3 different times.... the pictures are kind of out of order and such but oh well....

Wedding plans are going good we have a ton of stuff to do and between all of it we are trying to buy Dustin a new car cause his keeps breakin' down so he keeps busy lookin for a car and I just bug him :)

A few weeks ago I left Dustin at home and went with Hailey to visit Chelsey in Florida.... It was the most relaxing trip ever we had a couple of messages, room service, shopping and just relaxed the whole weekend a much needed break!!! Thanks Girls!

Dustin spent a saturday together... which doesn't happen very often cause I always have to work but we went shopping a went to the sidewalk chalk festival down town (I tried up loading more pics but it was messin every thing up ..) But is was a fun saturday. I bought him this hat at Sportmans... I don't think he likes it... what do you think... Its funny cause my family are such big hunters and both of the brother in-laws aren't really hunters but I'm workin' on Dustin Well see what happens I'm tryin to convince him to go deer huntin this year....hahah!! well that is alll for this time sorry I will try to figure this posting stuff out and once I do maybe I will post more often..... Maybe!!!

Memorial Day Weekend!!

Sorry guys I haven't posted anything for awhile... I've been kind of lazy. But we did go to Las Vegas to visit my sister Dez her birthday was May 28th HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEZ!!!

Dustin and I drove down to Vegas with my mom on saturday morning and then my day flew down monday morning.

It was a little cloudy the first couple of days but by tuesday it was got hot and we got fried!!! (as you can see by the pictures)

We had a fun weekend we ate good food... watched the Spurs get there butts kicked by the Lakers at the ESPN zone :( Dustin and my dad got there first pedicures (I wish I had my camera) We went and saw DAvid COPperField and that was way crazy!! Did some shopping and just hung out. It was fun spending 5 straight days with Dustin, that never happens were lucky to spend 1 full day together. Well that was our trip.... I'll try to be better at posting more often.

DUSTIN IS DONE WITH SCHOOL!!

Dustin is finally done with school... for now:) He finished his classes yesturday and it has been a long semester!! We are celebrating tonight.. I am taking him to Tuscany for dinner cause he loves Italian food. Dustin I am so proud of you!! Oh and for one of his final projects he had to make a book. Last night he called and told me to come outside and he gave me this book (posted above) he really is an amazing artist!!! CONGRATS DUSTIN!!!

As most of you know we are HUGE Jazz fans!!! Dustin and I bought playoff tickets for this year,, so went to the first game and as you all know the Jazz lost:( I got in a fight with the girl sitting next in front me... she kept looking back at me and I didn't like it so I asked her what her problem was.... anyhow we kind of had a few words for each other and that was the end of that. Dustin thought I was crazy.... he had never seen that side of me.. which doesn't come out very often but I guess it's good for him know that I do have a temper every once in awhile..:)

The Jazz are playing Friday night, you should all watch the game!!! GO JAZZ!!! We had fun getting our faces painted!!

I love planning weddings for other people but not for myself!!! I had my flourist make up some examples and I didn't really like them... so now I need to find pictures to give to her... oh well I guess that's life. Wedding plans are comin along though...

It's softball season and we are so excited!! Dustin has had 2 tournaments so far... Today he hit the winning home run!!It's fun to go and watch. This weekend he played up in Ogden. His parents and Grandma came...Thanks for the support!!
